[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, Saturday, 29 October 1881, Image 3 October 29, 1881 PLANTATION SOLD. - The Pelican plantation, belonging to the estate of the late Edmond Bujol of this parish, and situated in the first ward, about seven miles above Donaldsonville, was sold at public auction last Saturday in accordance with the advertisement which appeared in the Chief for some weeks previous to that day. There were several bidders for the property and it was finally adjudicated jointly to Mr. Theodule B. Bujol, admidistrator (sic) of the estate, and his sister, Mrs. Edmonia St. Martin, wife of Mr. Emile St. Martin, for the sum of $34,000, one-half payable January 1, 1882, the other January 1, 1883. The stock, agricultural implements, growing crops and other appurtenances of the place are included in this price. Some household effects and other movables were sold to various bidders for the aggregate amount of $762.65. The purchasers of the plantation are the eldest son and daughter of the late owner.
