A Veteran Printer Retires. - After spending more than thirty years of his long 
life as a devotee of "the art preservative of all arts," our venerable friend 
and well-known fellow-citizen, A.F. LeBlanc, has sold his job-printing outfit 
and will hence-forth confine his attention to the functions and duties of his 
office as justice of the peace for the city of Donaldsonville, the corporate 
limits of which municipality are coextensive with those of the third ward of 
Ascension parish. Judge LeBlanc's first experience as a printer was gained, we 
believe, in the office of the Assumption Pioneer when that paper was conducted 
by the late Charles Dupaty. For ten years the judge - known by all his intimates 
as "Juba" LeBlanc - was a valued employee of the Chief, and during the ensuing 
twenty years he has conducted a job-printing business on his own account. Having 
served through the period of the civil war as a Confederate soldier and labored 
for the best part of a half-century in "sticking" type and "kicking" printing 
machines since the close of that momentous conflict of arms, he has well earned 
a rest from strenuous physical exertion. Wherefore, his many friends will join 
the Chief in wishing him a long term of pleasant and profitable public service 
in the judicial position to which he has been twice elected by the votes of a 
discriminating and confiding constituency.
