(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, May 02, 1908, Page 3 Damage Suit Filed. - Mr. and Mrs. Armand LeBlanc, of this parish, have filed suit in the district court at Baton Rouge against the Louisiana Railway and Navigation Company and the Baton Rouge Electric Light Company for damages in the amount of $30,000, claiming this sum as recompense for the death of their son, Thomas LeBlanc, who was killed at Baton Rouge in August, 1907, by being knocked from a freight car of the Red River Valley road by a trolley wire of the Baton Rouge street railway company. The petition of plaintiff's alleges that the wire had been lowered during the preceding day about four feet, and that there was not sufficient room to allow a person to stand on top of a car without being struck by the wire. The L.R. and N. Company is brought into the suit because of the allegation that the road did not warn LeBlanc, who was one of its employees, that the wire had been lowered. The unfortunate young man was knocked between the cars and killed almost instantly.
