On Friday next, the 8th instant, unless something unforessen (sic) prevents, 
Gustave Paul, alias Charles Gustave, will suffer the extreme penalty of the law 
for the murder of Eve Thompson. The execution will take place at the jail yard, in 
Donaldsonville, between the hours of 10 A.M. and 2 P.M. An effort is being made by 
the friends of the condemned man to secure a communtation (sic) of his sentence, 
but the nature of his crime was such that the Governor will doubtless decline to 
interfere.
