(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, February 23, 1918, Page 3 Riverside Plantation Changes Hands. - C.H. Landry, Sr., has sold his Riverside plantation near Donaldsonville to a syndicate composed of Messrs. Robert L. LeBlanc, Augustin Simoneaux and Gabriel Rybiski, all of Assumption parish, the price being $45,000. The place fronts on the Mississippi river, about two miles below this city, and contains 850 acres of land, of which 700 are now in cultivation. It will be under the management of Mr. Simoneaux, who has already taken charge and moved with his family into the domicile formerly occupied by the Landry household. Mr. Landry has purchased from the new owners of the plantation the dwelling at one time occupied by the late John F. Landry, together with sixteen acres of land embraced in the residence site, and will take up his home therein with his family as soon as repairs and improvements now being made are fully completed. He has also made arrangements to lease 200 acres of the Riverside tract, on which he will raise rice this year. The Viala plantation adjoining Riverside, with an area of 250 acres, is owned by Mr. Landry, and he will cultivate rice on this place also.
