Death of Mrs. Desire L. Arceneaux - After an illness of two weeks, Mrs. Desire 
L. Arceneaux, aged sixty-five years, eight months and ten days, died at her 
residence in Smoke Bend at 7:30 o'clock yesterday morning. The funeral took 
place at 9 o'clock this forenoon, with services at the St. Francis of Assissium 
church in Smoke Bend and interment in the Donaldsonville Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Arceneaux, who was a native of Assumption parish, was before her marriage 
Miss May Estelle Theriot. She was highly esteemed for her attractive disposition 
and numerous deeds of kindness and charity, and the announcement of her demise 
will be received with unfeigned sorrow wherever she was known.

The immediate surviving relatives include two sons and four daughters, namely: 
Mrs. S. Rousseau, Mrs. A. Veron and Miss Laura Arceneaux, of Smoke Bend, Mrs. S. 
Truxillo, of Donaldsonville, and Messrs. Laurent and Florian Arceneaux. To the 
bereaved family The Chief begs leave to tender assurances of sincere sympathy.
