Ayme. - A good woman was called to her reward when Mrs. A. E. Ayme, after months of suffering, closed her eyes in the long sleep that knows no walking and passed from earthly care into the sublime blessedness of eternal peace. Mrs. Ayme died at the family home on New Hope plantation at 8:40 o'clock last Sunday morning, aged 58 years, 9 months and 3 days. She was a native of St. James parish, nee Claire Richard, but had resided in Ascension since her marriage, and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances to whom the announcement of her demise proved a distinct shock and brought profound sorrow. The funeral took place Monday forenoon, with services at the St. Francis of Assisium church in Smoke Bend and interment in the Donaldsonville Catholic cemetery. Besides her husband, Mrs. Ayme leaves to lament her loss a son, Elyzee Ayme, and two sisters, Mrs. Felix Boudreaux, of Union, and Mrs. J.N. Cornet, of McElroy. The Chief proffers sincere sympathy to the grief-stricken family.
