(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871 - current, August 06, 1881, Image 3 OBITUARY. - We have heretofore inadvertently failed to chronicle the death of two well known citizens of this parish, who departed this life during the month of July. Pierre Oscar Ayraud died at the residence of his son-in-law, Dr. Jno. Duffel, in Donaldsonville, on the 21st ult., at the age of 67. He was, we believe, a native and life-long resident of Ascension, having long been one of the oldest and most respected citizens of the third ward of the parish. He held several local offices in the course of his long and honorable career, and in these, as in all the other relations of his life he earned the esteem and respect of his fellow-men. On the 16th of July Andrew Jackson Landry died at his home in the Crevasse settlement, fifth ward, at the early age of 30. He had been in failing health for some months and had sought in vain for improvement by change of air and climate. He was a quiet, unassuming, industrious and upright young man, and enjoyed the respect of all who new him. He leaves a young wife, and, we believe, several children to mourn him.
