AYRAUD. - [Special to the Picayune.] Donaldsonville, La., March 26. - The remains of John H. Ayraud, who died at Covington, La., last Tuesday, at the age of 41 years, arrived here yesterday evening from New Orleans. The funeral services were held at the Catholic Church, and interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery. The deceased was a well-known, popular and highly respectable businessman of this community, of which he had been a life resident. He was a son of the late John H. Ayraud, Sr., Deputy Recorder of this parish for a number of years and a grandson of John F. Ayraud, who was the Parish Recorder here for over twenty-five years in ante-bellum days. Mr. Ayraud had been in poor health for some months past and thinking a change in air would be beneficial to him, left for Covington about a month ago, but instead of getting better, he gradually grew worse, until death finally relieved him. He leaves a widow and five small children. Camp Victor St. Martin, U.S.C.V.A., of which he was a member, attended the funeral in a body.
