(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871 - current, February 18, 1905, Imag 4 Death of Mrs. Henry Abraham. - Mrs. Henry Abraham, nee Alice Goldsmith, wife of the prominent New Orleans cotton factor, died at her residence in St. Charles avenue at 9:30 o'clock p. m. Sunday, aged 59 years. Mrs. Abraham had been ill for some four years, but was not an invalid up to last February, when the death of her son, Jacob H. Abraham, inflicted a shock from which she never quite recovered. She was probably one of the most charitable women in New Orleans, and was a member of many Hebrew and non-sectarian charitable organizations. Her remains were laid to rest in the Metairie cemetery at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, after solemn services at the residence and grave conducted by Rabbi Max Heller. Besides her husband, Mrs. Abraham is survived by three daughters, Mmes. Meyer Lemann, Simon Steinhardt and Max Ellinger, and two sons, Maurice and Joseph H. Abraham. She also leaves a brother and sister, ten grand-children and a large number of other relatives to mourn her loss. Mrs. Lemann, one of the bereaved daughters, is the wife of Myer Lemann, the well-known local planter and merchant.
