[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, August 17, 1918, Image 3 Death of Miguel Acosta. - Miguel Acosta, an aged and respected citizen of this city, died at his home in Nicholls avenue last Wednesday at 9:30 o'clock a. m., after an illness of long duration. Deceased was sixty-eight years and seven months old at the time of his death, and had resided here nearly all of his life. For several years past and up to the time of his death he held the contract of city garbage collector. He is survived by his wife, one brother, Lucien Acosta, Sr., deputy sheriff and jailer of this parish, and the following children: Chas. Mack Acosta, a private in Company B, 114th Ammunition Train, formerly stationed at Camp Beauregard, but now on the way to some port of embarkation for France; Horace Acosta, Mrs. Henry Allen and Miss Linda Acosta. The funeral took place Thursday forenoon at 10 o'clock, with services at the Catholic church and interment in the Catholic cemetery. The Chief joins the friends of the family in tendering sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
