Bella Parr Babin, 94, a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish, died on Friday, 
July 4, 2008, at the Gonzales Health Care Center. Visitation will be at Holy 
Rosary Catholic Church, La. 429, in St. Amant, on Monday, July 7, beginning at 
9 a.m. Celebration of the Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. with 
burial to follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, La. 30, Gonzales. Survived by her two 
daughters, Patricia Babin Scarborough and husband Donald and Sharon Babin 
Villar; two sons, James M. "Sneaky" Babin and wife Veronica and Dwight J. 
Babin and wife Wanda; sister, Mamie Parr Moreno; eight grandchildren, Jamie 
Gayle, Royce, Dwayne, Chad, Melissa, Stephanie, Lisa and Doug; six great-
grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. Preceded in death by her 
parents, Jules and Orine Parr; husband, Winthrope Babin; two sisters, Bessie 
and Mae; and her four brothers, Lucien, Oneal, Herman and Dennis. Pallbearers 
will be her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States 
with her friends. She also loved to fish.
