[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, July 27, 1912, Image 4 Death of Mrs. Alfred Beckner. - The many friends in Ascension and elsewhere of Mrs. Alfred Beckner, formerly Miss Lillie Vives of Iberville parish, were greatly shocked to learn of her untimely death, which occurred suddenly on Tuesday, the 23rd inst., at 7 :30 o'clock a.m., at the Beckner home in Brookstown, near Baton Rouge. Mrs. Beckner was a woman of splendid character and charming personality and was greatly beloved for her many kind and charitable deeds. Her husband, Alfred Beckner, was employed for many years in a managerial capacity on the Miles Company's group of plantations at Burnside, the family having moved to East Baton Rouge a few years ago. The funeral took place Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock, interment being made in Magnolia cemetery after services at St. Joseph's Catholic church. Mrs. Beckner is survived by her mother, husband and three young sons, to whom the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends is extended.
