Funeral services were held at St. Anthony's chapel, at Darrow, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, after which the remains were taken to St. James parish and laid to rest in the family tomb in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Bingay was born on the Landry plantation in the sixth ward of this parish and was a daughter of Simon Landry, a lieutenant in the battle of New Orleans. The Landry plantation was a part grant from the Spanish government in the 18th century. She took a lively interest in the present war as well as in all current happenings. She is survived by her son, B. J. Bingay; three daughters, Mrs. Jas. D. Daniels and Mrs. Alfred Plaisance, of New Orleans, and Mrs. John Gravois, of Hoen Solms.
