Death of Mrs. M. T. Blouin. - The body of Mrs. M. T. Blouin, who died at her 
home in New Orleans Tuesday afternoon, was brought to Donaldsonville 
Wednesday on the T. & P. train arriving here at 2:27 p. m., and after 
services at Ascension church was interred in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. 
Blouin, nee Leonie Babin, was a native of Ascension parish, and resided with 
her husband in Donaldsonville up to six years ago, when the family moved to 
New Orleans. In October last she was operated on at the Hotel Dieu, but had 
almost completely recovered from the effects of this ordeal when on Thursday 
of last week she was atricken with an attack of pneumonia, which resulted in 
her death. She was 58 years, 3 months and 27 days of age, and was a true 
Christian in the fullest sense of the term - charitable, kindly, and 
forgiving, always ready to lend her assistance to whoever might be in need 
of help, and to speak a word of cheer and comfort to those assailed by 
life's misfortunes or calamities. She is survived by her husband, two 
children, Mrs. J. M. Smith and Thomas Blouin, Jr., of New Orleans; three 
brothers, L. B. Babin, of St. James, L. J. B. Babin and L. J. H. Babin, of 
Donaldsonville, and two sisters, Mrs. Theodule Michel, of Gramercy, and Mrs. 
Joseph Codifer, of New Orleans. The Chief joins a host of friends here and 
elsewhere in extending assurances of heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved 
family.
