[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, April 05, 1919, Image 2 Gonzales. - Adam Braud, Sr., popularly known as "Bill" Braud, and aged and highly respected citizen and Confederate veteran, died at his home at Gonzales last week, after a sickness of many months duration due to the infirmities of old age. Deceased was born here on March 15, 1845, and lived his whole life at this place. Funeral services were held at the new Catholic church here, this being the first funeral conducted in this new edifice, and the remains were laid to rest in the new Catholic cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss, two sons: M. Clement and Louis Braud, and four daughters: Mrs. Nestor Gautreaux, Mrs. Rene Bercegeay, Mrs. Vincent Gautreaux and Mrs. Alphonse Lanoux, all residents of this place.
