Creamer marykcreamer.00@gmail.com February 10, 2022, 11:21 pm source: The Donaldsonville Chief (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, December 10, 1910, Image 4 Death of Henry Buquoi, Sr. - Henry Buquoi, Sr., one of the oldest and best-known citizens of this community, aged eighty-seven years, eleven months and six days, passed away at 7:15 o'clock p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Sam Schmidt of New Orleans, whom he had been visiting for the past two months. His remains were brought to Donaldsonville the following day on the 12:11 p.m. Texas and Pacific train, and were interred in the local Catholic cemetery after impressive services at Ascension Church. Mr. Buquoi was an upright man and a progressive citizen, and throughout his long and honorable career he enjoyed the unqualified esteem and confidence of all with whom he came in contact. His demise will prove a loss to the citizenship of the community, and the sympathy which is felt for the bereaved family in the hour of their grief is both widespread and genuine. The surviving children of the deceased are: Mrs. Edgard Fortier and Henry Buquoi, of Donaldsonville; Mrs. Sam Schmidt and Mrs. John Mollere, of New Orleans, Mrs. Philip Landry, of Whitecastle; Mrs. W.N. Guilbert of Plaquemine, and Mrs. Milton Sanchez, of Lexington, Tenn.
