(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871 - current, Saturday, May 18, 1907, Image 2 Death of Joseph Babin. - Joseph Babin, aged forty-six years and three months, died at the New Orleans Charity Hospital Wednesday at 12 m., as a result of an operation for appendicitis, and was buried in the Catholic cemetery at this place Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, after services at the local Catholic church. He leaves a wife, who was Miss Augustine Gonzales, and fifteen children. Mr. Babin had been in the employ of the Texas and Pacific Railway as bridge-tender at Donaldsonville for the past twenty-two years, and was well thought of by all who knew him. Several weeks ago he was attacked with appendicitis and was taken to New Orleans, where he was forced to undergo an operation, from which he was apparently recovering. His strength was not sufficient to withstand the effects of the second operation and he succumbed. To the bereaved widow and orphans The Chief extends its heartfelt sympathy.
