Badger, general appraiser of the port at New Orleans, and one of the best known and most highly thought of men in that city, died at his residence there Tuesday morning after an illness of nearly five months' duration, aged sixty-five years. Gen. Badger was a Union veteran of the civil war and had been in the service of his country almost continually since. He was high in Masonic circles and his funeral obsequies, which were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, were conducted by members of that fraternity.
