Venerable Citizen Dead. - Auguste Barthelemy, a native of France, and for 
the past sixty years a resident of Donaldsonville, died in this city Friday 
of last week, the 11th inst., aged 83 years. He was in good health up to 
four years ago, when his physical faculties began to fail. The funeral took 
place Saturday forenoon and was largely attended, interment being made in 
the Catholic cemetery after impressive services at Ascension church. 
Deceased is survived by six children: Messrs. Julien and John Barthelemy, of 
Donaldsonville; Mrs. A. Maurin and Mrs. L. Pillat of New Orleans; Mrs. 
Fortunee Erris, of this city, and Mrs. S. Oubre, of White Castle, besides 
several grandchildren. To the bereaved family sincere sympathy is extended 
by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.
