[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, March 15, 1884, Image 3 Mr. William Bradford, better known by the nickname of "Buck," died at his home in Port Barrow on Thursday, of small pox. He was a young man possessing many good traits of character, and his death will be deeply regretted by his relatives and friends. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn him. Deceased was not quite 31 years of age, and was a member of the Cannoneers of Donaldson, the members of which command have been ordered to wear the usual badge of morning in compliance with the ninth article of their regulations. The contagious character of his disease prevented most of Mr. Bradford's friends and comrades from visiting him during his illness or attending his funeral.
