Bujol Scalded to Death. - Celestin Leopold Bujol, a native of Ascension parish, but for the past several months a resident of New Orleans, died in that city at 2 o'clock p. m. last Monday, the 29th ult., from the effects of injuries received in a deplorable accident which occurred about 8 o'clock Monday morning at the factory of the American Can Company, corner of Toulouse and Cortez streets. It seems that the unfortunate man was at work in the vicinity of the water heater when by some accident one of the pipes bursted, Mr. Bujol being deluged with steam and boiling water, which severely scalded him about the back and chest. He was conveyed to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Cannon, at 2819 Palmyra street, where he had made his home since removing to New Orleans, and everything that medical science could suggest was done to relieve his sufferings and save his life, but to no avail. The remains were brought to Donaldsonville Tuesday forenoon via the Texas and Pacific Railway and were interred in the Catholic cemetery after impressive services at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Mr. Bujol was thirty-one years of age, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He is survived by two brothers, Joseph E. and Charles Bujol, one sister, Mrs. Emile Dominique, and a kind and devoted step-mother, Mrs. Etienne Bujol, all residing in the upper portion of this parish. The sad accident which ended his life is deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends in Ascension and elsewhere, all of whom will join The Chief in extending assurances of sincerest sympathy to the bereaved family.
