(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, August 24, 1912, page 5 Death of Mrs. Frank Chapman. - Mrs. Frank Chapman, formerly of this city, died at 3 o'clock p.m. Thursday at the home of her son, John Chapman, in Sugarland, Texas, aged seventy-two years, four months and twenty-five days. She was taken ill July 14 last, but had recuperated sufficiently to enable her to walk about the house. Last Saturday, while sitting on the porch of her son's residence, she was prostrated by a sudden attack of heart trouble, complicated with paralysis, and lingered until Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, when death came to relieve her of her suffering. The body was brought to this city, accompanied by Messrs. John and Ewing Chapman and their families, and upon arrival here last night was conveyed to the residence of Thos. Chapman, at the corner of Houmas and Claiborne streets, from whence the funeral was held at 5 o'clock this afternoon, with services at the Episcopal church and interment in the Protestant cemetery. Mrs. Chapman, nee Miss Fannie Ewing, was a native of Princeton, Indiana, but had resided in Louisiana since shortly after the civil war. She leaves to mourn her loss five sons, namely: Cale T. Chapman of Port Barrow, Thomas Chapman of Donaldsonville, John D. Chapman of Sugarland, Texas, Joseph Chapman of Algiers, and Ewing Chapman, Richmond, Texas. To these afflicted ones profound sympathy is extended by a wide circle of friends.
