[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, September 23, 1916, Image 3 DEATH INVADES HAPPY HOME. - Mrs. Lucien Casso's Bargue of Life Passes Out to Sea. - The entire community was grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Lucien Casso, which occurred at the family residence in Mississippi street at 5:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. While she had been in precarious health for several years, her family and friends had not realized that the end was so near and were stricken with sorrow and surprise when the inevitable moment of her passing arrived. Her illness of the last week or so had been given publicity, and there were voiced many expressions of sympathy coupled with heartfelt wishes for her recovery, but these were all in vain. Mrs. Casso, nee Eliska Loeb, had attained the age of 44 years and 10 months. She was in every sense a good woman - a true helpmate to her devoted husband, a loving mother to her affectionate children, a loyal friend to those whose pleasure it was to know her. She did her part well throughout life. At the end she died beloved and admired, leaving behind her the priceless heritage of duty faithfully performed, earth's obligations conscientiously discharged. All that is mortal of this lamented wife and mother will be consigned to a grave in the Catholic cemetery at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon, following services at Ascension church. Besides her husband, Mrs. Casso leaves nine children, seven boys and two girls. They are: Henry, Lawrence, Lucien, George, Benny, Louis, Clarence and Misses Royal and Bella Casso. Lucien Casso is working in the Buick automobile factory at Flint, Mich., and George Casso is in the employ of the Standard Oil Company at Baton Rouge. Other members of the bereaved family are two sisters, Mrs. John Pfister and Miss Bella Loeb, both of this city, and a brother, Geo. Loeb. In their affliction may they find the solace that comes from the divine source of all good.
