(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871 - current, February 25, 1911, Image 5 Death of Miss Florence Chapman. - Miss Florence Houston Chapman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cale T. Chapman, died at the home of her parents in Port Barrow Sunday evening at 5:20 o'clock, aged sixteen years, five months and seven days. Miss Chapman had been in poor health for some time, her illness having been diagnosed as pellagra by the family physician. She was a young woman of true Christian character, and occupied a high place in the esteem and affection of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. It may truly be said without the usual kindly exaggeration that her demise will prove a distinct loss to the community in which she lived. Besides a heart-broken father and mother, she leaves a little sister, Ruth, and many other relatives. Several beautiful floral offerings were sent, among which was a lovely wreath from some of her class-mates of the Donaldsonville High School. The funeral left the family residence at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon, with services at the Episcopal Church, Rev. Quincy Ewing of Napoleonville officiating, and interment in the Protestant cemetery. The Chief sympathizes profoundly with the family in their great bereavement.
