In Memoriam. - DIEZ. - Died, October 10, 1882, at 1 o'clock A.M., at his 
father's residence, No. 204 Marais street, New Orleans, Samuel B. Diez, aged 21 
years. A native of Louisiana.

Mr. Diez was in the employ of Mr. Rodolph Landman in his new store at 
Dominique's Landing, acting in the capacity of bookkeeper and clerk. Ever 
mindful of the interests of his employer, industrious, attentive to his duties 
and evincing much ability as a business man, he won for himself an enviable 
reputation and acquired great popularity among many with whom he had business 
relations.

Socially, he was pleasant and agreeable, of an exemplary conduct, genial, gentle 
and courteous in his disposition and an ardent and sincere friends.

Samuel had not been long in this locality before the fine traits of character 
with which he was endowed had won the esteem of the community and had made a 
host of friends who regret deeply his untimely demise.

To his sorrow stricken family, the community and this friend extend their 
condolence and sympathy in this their hour of bereavement. - A.P.D.
