Death of Mrs. E.J. Duhon. - After an illness of four months, Mrs. E.J. Duhon, 
nee Eveline Braud, passed away at 12:30 o'clock p.m. yesterday at the home of 
her brother, Rosemond Braud, in the fifth ward of this parish, aged thirty-four 
years. The funeral took place this morning, the remains being brought to 
Donaldsonville on the 10:30 o'clock trip of the ferry and interred in the 
Catholic cemetery, after services at Ascension Church.

Mrs. Duhon's husband was up to the beginning of the current year manager of the 
Alhambra plantation in Iberville parish, which position he had filled with 
signal ability for fourteen years. He is now cultivating a tract of land for his 
own account in the vicinity of Port Allen, and some weeks ago, when the back 
water from the Torras crevasse flooded his property, he and his wife came to 
Ascension to visit Mrs. Duhon's beother, Rosemond Braud, and it was at the 
latter's home near Crevasse Settlement that the final summons came to Mrs. Duhon 
shortly after noon yesterday.

Besides her heart-broken husband and brother, Mrs. Duhon is survived by four 
children, Messrs. Emile, Paul and Clarence and Miss Lena Duhon, the two first-
named sons being married.

The sorrow occasioned by the untimely demise of this estimable young woman is 
shared by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, who unite in extending 
profound sympathy to the grief-stricken family.
