[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, March 22, 1913, Image 5 Death of Miss Ida Duke. - After an illness of several weeks, Miss Ida L. Duke, daughter of Capt. A. D. Duke and Virginia Ourso, died at the family home in Port Barrow at 3 o'clock Tuesday morning, aged seventeen years, four months and five days. The funeral took place at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and was largely attended, sorrowing friends having gathered from near and far to accompany the remains to their last resting place and pay the final tribute of respect to the memory of one so worthy of regard and remembrance. Services at the Catholic church were conducted by Rev. Joseph Monteillard, and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. Miss Duke was a young woman of attractive personality, and enjoyed the highest esteem of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. It may be said without the usual kindly exaggeration that her death will prove a distinct loss to the circle lasting sorrow to the hearts of many devoted friends. Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother and sister, Arthur and Lillian Duke, to whom sincere sympathy is extended.
