(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, November 05, page 4 Death of Henry Eikel. - The sympathy of the entire community is extended to Frank Eikel, a progressive business man and highly esteemed resident of this city, in the bereavement occasioned by the death of his venerable father, Henry Eikel, who passed away at his home in New Orleans at 3 o'clock p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, aged seventy-nine years, two months and twenty-seven days. Mr. Eikel was a native of Braunsweig, Germany, but had resided in New Orleans for fifty- six years. He was an upright, honorable and industrious man, and enjoyed the highest esteem and respect of all with whom he came in contact. The funeral took place at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Oct. 27, services being held at the late residence of the deceased, No. 1501 Tchoupitoulas street, in the presence of a large assemblage of sorrowing relatives and friends. Mr. Frank Eikel was at his father's bedside when the end came, having gone to New Orleans the day before in response to a message informing him of his father's critical illness. To him and the other members of the bereaved family the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends and acquaintances is respectfully tendered.
