Death of Nicholas Eris, Sr. - Nicholas Eris, Sr., one of the oldest and best-
known citizens of this community, died at his home in Railroad avenue at 7:15 
o'clock last Sunday morning, the 6th inst., aged 82 years. The funeral took 
place Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, interment being made in the Catholic 
cemetery after services at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Mr. Eris was one of 
the founders of the Bank of Donaldsonville, and served as a member of the board 
of directors of that institution for a long number of years. He is survived by a 
daughter, Widow Joseph Garcia, of this town, and several grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren, to whom The Chief begs leave to tender assurances of 
sincerest sympathy.
