Jean Pierre Espierre, a native of France, but a residence of this country for 
twenty-seven years, died at 6 o'clock p. m. last Wednesday at the residence of 
Mrs. M. Berot, in Port Barrow, from the effects of an attack of pneumonia. Mr. 
Espierre was seventy-seven years of age, and had made his home with Mrs. Berot 
and her family for the past quarter of a century. The funeral took place at 2:30 
o'clock Thursday afternoon, with services and interment in the Donaldsonville 
Catholic church and cemetery. During his long residence in this community Mr. 
Espierre made a number of warm friends who will deplore his demise and fondly 
cherish his memory.
