Prominent Italian Merchant Dead. - Matteo Gagliano, a well-known Italian 
merchant of Port Barrow, died at his home there at 6 o'clock Thursday morning, 
aged 57 years, 8 months and 7 days. He was a native of Compo Feoreto, Italy, 
but had resided in this city for a long number of years. The funeral took 
place at 10 o'clock Friday forenoon under the auspices of the local Italian 
benevolent society, interment being made in the Catholic cemetery after 
services at Ascension Church. Deceased is survived by his wife and several 
children, to whom sympathy is extended by many friends.
