Gaudet. - The many friends of Mrs. B. Rybiski sympathize with her in the bereavement caused by the death of her brother, Charles U. Gaudet, a prominent druggist of New Orleans, who died last Monday morning at his home in that city from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy with which he was stricken a few hours previously. Mr. Gaudet was a native of St. James parish, aged seventy years, and had resided in New Orleans since the close of the civil war, having successfully conducted a drug store at the corner of Rampart and Dumaine streets for the past quarter of a century. He was a man of profound learning, devoted to his family and conscientious in the discharge of the duties of his profession, and was loved and esteemed by all with whom he came in contact. Besides his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Victoire Robertson, of St. James parish, he is survived by two daughters, Misses Aline and Jeanne Gaudet, Mr. and Mrs. Rybiski went to New Orleans to attend the funeral, which took place at 10 o'clock a.m. Tuesday, with services at St. Augustine's Catholic church. Mr. Rybiski returned home Tuesday evening, Mrs. Rybiski remaining in New Orleans for several days to be with her sister-in-law and nieces in their affliction.
