Amant Gaudin, nee Philomene Utulma Desnoyer, died at her home at Crevasse Settlement, this parish, at 12 o'clock m. yesterday, after a brief illness with pneumonia, aged 50 years, 2 months and 11 days. Mrs Gaudin was the wife of C. Amant Gaudin, a well-known Confederate veteran who served with conspicuous gallantry in the war between the sates as a member of the Phoenix Guards, originally commanded by Capt. F.T. Nicholls and later by Capt. Victor St. Martin. Her remains were interred in the Donaldsonville Catholic cemetery at 3 o'clock this afternoon, after services at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Our sympathies are extended to the bereaved husband and the other members of the afflicted family.
