Mrs. Faustin Gregoire, Sr. 

Mrs. Faustin Gregoire, Sr., a resident of Barton, in the second ward of this 
parish, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Camille Albarado, in Port 
Barrow, last Sunday at 9 oclock p. m., at the advanced age of 75 years, 9 
months and 18 days. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock. 
Services were held at the Catholic church in Smoke Bend, following which the 
remains were brought to Donaldsonville and laid to rest in the Catholic 
cemetery. Deceased was a kind-hearted, gentle and pious woman, a devoted wife 
and her demise is a source of much sorrow to the members of her family. She is 
survived by her husband to whom she had been married 60 years, and eight 
children, namely: Faustin Gregoire, Jr., Gilbert Gregoire, Cleopha Gregoire, 
Mrs. Alcee Rodrigue and Mrs. Camile Albarado of this parish of Ascension; W. J. 
Gregoire and Mrs. T. A. Montecino of New Orleans, and Joseph Gregoire of 
Reserve. The Chief condoles with them in their sorrow.
