(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, February 24, 1877, page 3 A report reached here Sunday morning, and has since been confirmed, of the death of Mr. Arthur Hebert of Iberville parish from injuries received at the explosion of the boiler of the steamboat Dot, opposite Bayou Goula, on the 13th instant. The intelligence was at first discredited, as its was the general impression that Mr. Hebert had not been dangerously hurt. The evening of the accident, or the morning following, he wrote a letter giving an account of the catastrophe, which was brought here by the messenger sent down in charge of the body of Mr. Edwards. From this circumstance, as well as the report of the colored man who escaped from the Dot with Mr. Hebert, it was inferred that the injuries of the latter were comparatively slight and his speedy recovery was anticipated. His death occurred, we believe, on Saturday last.
