John Leo Hennessy, professor of Spanish and Latin at Newcomb College, died at 
his home in New Orleans at 9:30 o'clock Sunday night, aged 38 years. Prof. 
Hennessy was employed as a stenographer by the Goyer-Alliance Company last 
summer, and remained in Donaldsonville, together with his wife and three-year-
old daughter, until the opening of Newcomb in the fall. He made a number of 
friends during his stay here who will learn of his death with sincere regret.
