[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, April 29, 1922, Image 3 Child Scalded to Death. - Lleuellyn Hernandez, aged 11 months and 19 days, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Linden Hernandez of this city, died at her parents home Thursday forenoon at 10:45 o'clock from the effects of a severe scalding sustained the day before. It was about 1 o'clock in the afternoon. There was a pot of boiling water on the kitchen oil stove. The baby it is said while at play shook the stove and up-set the pot, the wter (sic) falling on her head and body. Dr. E. K. Sims was summoned and he did everyhing (sic) possible to save the child but to no avail. She passed away after much suffering, Thursday forenoon. The funeral took place yesterday at 11 o'clock a. m. Services at the Catholic church and interment in the Catholic cemetery. The Chief condoles with the afflicted parents in their great sorrow.
