(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, February 08, 1913, page 5 Death of Mrs. William Hickson. - Mrs. William Hickson, nee Fanny Hawkins Matthews, died at 4 o'clock p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at the home of her son, J.J. Hickson, aged eighty years, three months and ten days. Mrs. Hickson was a native of England, where she was married in 1860. She and her husband came to the United States in 1879 and located in Manitoba, Canada, residing there five years. Subsequently they removed to Lake county, Florida, where they made their home for thirteen years, and where Mr. Hickson died. For the past sixteen years Mrs. Hickson had been a resident of Louisiana. She is survived by four sons and one daughter namely: William Hickson, of Lake county, Florida; J.J. Hickson, of Donaldsonville; Arthur E. Hickson, of Burnside; Alfred E. Hickson, of Bluff Center, British Columbia, and Mrs. G.E. Wyatt, of Long Branch, Washington. The funeral took place at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, interment being made in the Protestant cemetery after services at the house conducted by Rev. Quincy Ewing, of Napoleonville. The Chief tenders sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
