[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, November 29, 1919, Image 1 Gloster Hill Passes Away. - Gloster H. Hill, colored, former representative and clerk of court of this parish, died in New Orleans about two months ago, at an advanced age. He was a member of the G. A. R. and pensioner of the United States government. In the seventies he represented the parish of Ascension in the Louisiana general assembly, during the administration of Gov. Wm. P. Kellogg. He was clerk of court of this parish from 1884 to 1888, and upon his retirement from politics embraced the ministry and for the past thirty years was pastor of a colored church in the fifth ward about two miles above Darrow. His remains were brought there for interment.
