Mrs. Claude Himel Passes Away. - After an illness of only a few days, Mrs. 
Claude Himel, nee Emma Marie Tircuit, passed away at her home at Modeste in the 
first ward of this parish, last Wednesday at 3 o'clock a.m., aged 35 years, 8 
months and 6 days. Deceased was stricken with influenza Thursday of last week. 
The disease quickly developed into pneumonia, and despite everything that 
medical science and good nursing could do, her condition grew gradually worse 
until she finally passed away. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon at 4 
o'clock, with services and interment in the Donaldsonville Catholic church and 
cemetery. A large number of relatives and friends attended the last sad rites 
and followed the remains to their last resting place.

Mrs. Himel was a daughter of Charles Tircuit, well-known rice planter, formerly 
of St. James but now of the parish of Iberville, and for the past two years 
prior to January, 1920, resided on Peytavin plantation of which her husband was 
manager. At the begining of the present year, Mr. and Mrs. Himel removed to 
Modeste where Mr. Himel is engaged in rice [ink smudge].

Besides her [ink smudge] husband, she [ink smudge] one daughter [ink smudge]; 
her father, Charles Tircuit; five brothers, Numa, Lawrence, Clarence, Walter and 
Irvin Tircuit, and two sisters, Mrs. L.R. Ferchaud and Mrs. A.P. Roussel. To the 
bereaved relatives the Chief tenders sincere sympathy in their great 
bereavement.
