(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, 16 March 1878, page 3 We regretfully chronicle the death of Madame John H. Ilsley, Sr., nee Eliza G. Mollere, who passed away on the 10th inst., at her home in New Orleans, at the ripe age of 72 years, after brief illness. The remains were brought to this parish on the steamer Henry Tete, Tuesday, and were buried the same day, the funeral cortege moving from the Gaudin residence, a short distance below town. Deceased was, we believe, a native of Ascension, and her death is mourned here by many relatives and friends. Deep sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband, the venerable Judge Ilsley, who loses one in whose companionship nearly fifty years of his life have been spent. The couple expected to celebrate their golden wedding during the coming Summer, but cruel destiny has intervened and the portals of the tomb close upon the faithful wife and devoted mother, whose long life was a record of loving deeds and shining virtues.
