Death of P. U. Jumonville. - P. U. Jumonville, a progressive young merchant 
and popular citizen of the first ward, aged thirty years, died at his home 
in Smoke Bend at 12:30 o'clock p. m. last Monday, after an illness of long 
duration. The funeral took place at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with 
services at the St. Francis of Assissium Catholic church in Smoke Bend and 
interment in the Donaldsonville Catholic cemetery. Deceased was a member of 
Ascension Council No. 1087, K. of C., and Sacred Heart Branch No. 340, C. K. 
of A., both of which organization attended the obsequies in a body. Mr. 
Jumonville is survived by a young wife, three small children, one brother, 
Henry Jumonville, and one sister, Mrs. Hendrick Veron, all of Smoke Bend. To 
these afflicted ones The Chief begs leave to tender assurances of sincere 
sympathy.
