(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, November 29, 1913, page 3 Death of Charles Kaufman. - Charles Kaufman, a native of Alsace, Germany, and for many years a resident of St. James, where he was engaged in the insurance business, died at the Touro Infirmary in New Orleans at 7:30 o'clock a.m. last Saturday, aged sixty-one years, and his remains were brought to Donaldsonville via the Texas and Pacific Railroad Sunday morning and laid to rest in the local Jewish cemetery. Services were conducted at the grave by Rabbi H. Rosenwasser, of Baton Rouge, and the funeral ceremonies of the Order of B'nai B'rith were carried out under the auspices of Ascension Lodge No 543, of this city of which deceased was a member. Mr. Kaufman also held membership in the St. James lodge of Knoghts of Pythias. He is survived by his wife and eight children, Messrs. Henry, Sam, Dave, Abraham and Leo Kaufman, and Misses Dora, Sarah and Ida Kaufman.
