(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, October 19, 1918, page 2 Death of a Good Citizen. - David Ker, a well-known resident and citizen of this parish, for many years employed in the mercantile business in the first ward, and for a long time employed as travelling salesman for the American Coffee Company, of New Orleans, passed away at his home in Port Barrow last Thursday morning at 3 o'clock after a brief illness. Deceased was 49 years of age and was thrice married. His first wife died several years ago. By his second wife, Miss Euphemie Ayraud, also deceased, he leaves two children, Susie and David. Last year Mr. Ker took as his third wife Miss Camella Daigle, who survives him. Deceased was a good husband, a kind and affectionate father and a most exemplary citizen. He was a very staunch friend to those who claimed his friendship and noted for a most charitable disposition; many among the poor will keenly feel his untimely passing away. The funeral took place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services at the Episcopal church and interment in the Catholic cemetery. Beside his wife and two children Mr. Ker leaves one brother, Henry Ker, president of the American Coffee Company of New Orleans, and two sisters to mourn his loss.
