Creamer marykcreamer.00@gmail.com April 11, 2023, 1:31 am source: The Donaldsonville Chief. (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, January 04, 1913, page 4 Death of Mrs. J.P. Krieger, Sr. - Mrs. J.P. Krieger, Sr., for many years a resident of this city, but who removed to Crowley with her son a few months ago, died at that place at 1:30 o'clock p.m. Thursday, after a week's illness, aged eigthy-six (sic) years. Mrs. Krieger was apparently in good health up to Christmas day, when she was seized with a sudden attack of illness while assisting her daughter-in-law in preparing the Christmas dinner for the household. The spell proved to be the final dissolution of the venerable lady's faculties and physical system, due to her advanced age, and after lingering in a state of coma for several days she passed peacefully away. The remains were brought to Donaldsonville on the 2:05 p.m. T. and P. train yesterday, and after services at Ascension church were tenderly laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Krieger is survived by three sons, Joseph Bergeron, of Cheneyville, Bob Bergeron, of New River, and J.P. Krieger, of Crowley; one daughter, Mrs. John Shaffer, of Amesville; two brothers, Baptiste Boudreaux, of Darrow, and Landry Boudreaux, of Port Barrow, and one sister, Mrs. Marie Leblanc, of New River. Sincere sympathy is extended the bereaved family by a wide circle of friends.
