Mrs. Ferdinand Lachese, nee Maillete, died at the home of James Fortier, in Chetimaches street, at 11:30 o'clock a. m. last Saturday, the 10th inst., aged 87 years. Mrs. Lachese was a native of France, but had lived in this town for upwards of half a century and was highly esteemed by a large number of friends and acquaintances. Her remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at 9 o'clock Sunday forenoon, after impressive services at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Deceased was an aunt of Mrs. James Fortier of Donaldsonville, and Mrs. A. E. Truxillo, of A Bend, to whom The Chief begs leave to tender assurances of sincerest sympathy.
