Noble Woman Passes Away.

After an illness of long duration, Mrs. Louis A. Landry, Sr., nee Augustin 
LeBlanc, passed away at her home in the fourth ward of this parish, at 8:55 
o'clock last Monday morning, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 27 days. 
Deceased was the wife of the late Louis A. Landry, Sr., popularly known at 
"Tip" Landry, a veteran of the Civil War and for many years prominently 
identified with the farming and political interests of this parish. She was 
a noble-hearted woman, of a very pious disposition, a devout Catholic 
regular in attendance of divine services and punctual in the performance of 
her religious duties and was highly esteemed for her many splendid traits of 
character which endeared her to all who knew her. She was a loving and 
affectionate mother, a kind and devoted friend, and her death is a source of 
much regret in the community where she lived so long. The funeral took place 
last Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, with services at the Catholic church and 
interment in the family tomb in the Catholic cemetery. A large number of 
sorrowing relatives and friends followed the remains to their last resting 
place. Deceased is survived by two sons, Louis A. Landry and Gilbert Landry; 
two daughters, Mrs. Edward S.Schaff and Mrs. Philip Hebert, and fifteen 
grandchildren. To them the Chief tenders its sympathy in their great 
bereavement.
