On the 16th of July Andrew Jackson Landry died at his home in the Crevasse 
settlement, fifth ward, at the early age of 30. He had been in failing health 
for some months and had sought in vain for improvement by change of air and 
climate. He was a quiet, unassuming, industrious and upright young man, and 
enjoyed the respect of all who new him. He leaves a young wife, and, we 
believe, several children to mourn him.
