The death of Martinien Nere Landry, a native of Ascension parish and a well-
known resident of the Port Barrow community up to ten years ago, when he moved 
to New Orleans, was announced in the Times-Picayune of Thursday. Mr. Landry 
passed away at Helenbirg, La., Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 7 o'clock a. m., aged 71 
years and his funeral took place at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the 
residence of his daughter, Mrs. George Bonnet, No. 200 South Solomon street, 
in New Orleans.
